Experience a Intangible Cultural Heritage – Unicorn dance

“Unicorn Dance” is a performing art of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage; it is a reflection of communities, groups and individuals practicing and inheriting Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage.

“Unicorn Dance” is divided into two parts: a head and a body, which are controlled by two performers and dance to the beat of the music.

This year, 11 overseas exchange students were taught by Master Huang of the PAK MEI SAI KEUNG MARTIAL ARTS DRAGON LION ASSOCIATION and learned the “intangible cultural heritage” performing art -“Unicorn Dance”. They will perform the “Unicorn Dance” on December 22.

Accompanying the percussion music of the drums and cymbals, our exchange students learned how to carry the head of a unicorn, working together to move its body in synchronization to give the impression that a real wild animal is on the loose.

It was a day of learning, immersing themselves in our vibrant Chinese culture and having fun!
