Announcement of GCE Shortlisted Candidates

We are proud to announce the 22 finalists advancing to the GCE Final Competition. These outstanding young leaders represent schools and organizations across Hong Kong, showcasing creativity, vision, and commitment to global citizenship.

The GCE Competition empowers young people to think globally, act locally, and inspire change. We look forward to seeing these finalists shine on stage and beyond!

Remarks:

Self-Financed Participation: Non-winners may self-finance to join the Czech Study Tour with the winners. Orientation will be held on May 2, 2026, at the AFS office.


The GCE Competition 2026

The GCE Competition 2026 was successfully held on April 18, 2026. A heartfelt thank you to SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School for providing the venue. We also extend our gratitude to the panelists for their invaluable insights and guidance throughout the competition. Your expertise greatly enriched the discussions and inspired the students.

The 5 Excellence Awardees

We are with pleasure to announce that five remarkable students have earned a distinguished opportunity to travel to the Czech Republic sustainability exchange tour this summer for 2 weeks!

Their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional achievements have secured them this once-in-a-lifetime journey. They will explore the Czech Republic, with its rich history, architecture, and nature, as one of the most beautiful places to visit. This program combines insights into history and Czech culture with exploring nature and engaging in local life. Take the unique opportunity to travel through architecturally valuable cities and places and get the feeling of traveling across centuries.

2026 GCE Award Ceremony

2026 GCE Award Ceremony was successfully held on 8 May at Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui Secondary School. On the day, 14 schools and 80 teachers and students attended the ceremony to celebrate and witness the achievements of our students under the Global Citizenship Education (GCE) Project.

This year, the GCE Project attracted 25 schools and institutions, benefiting a total of 610 students. After students submitted their proposals and participated in the GCE Competition, a panel of professional judges selected 5 Excellence students and 2 Merit Award Students. They are all demonstrating their enthusiasm and dedication to Global Citizenship Education. These students will also be taking part in a summer exchange tour to the Belt and Road partner country—Czechia in Summer 2026.
