{"id":268227,"date":"2024-09-12T16:08:46","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T08:08:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hong-kong.afssite.afs.org\/?page_id=268227"},"modified":"2025-11-14T13:33:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T05:33:34","slug":"intercultural-pre-program-survey-findings","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.afs.hk\/en\/intercultural-pre-program-survey-findings\/","title":{"rendered":"Intercultural Pre-Program Survey Findings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the pre-program survey of the participants, we learnt that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Over 70% of the students are \u201ccurious and sensitive when approaching a different culture\u201d, \u201cwilling to accept each other\u2019s unique differences, while enjoy similarities\u201d, \u201cbelieve a deeper understanding of different cultures helps your personal growth\u201d and \u201cwilling to contribute time and energy to build a better world for all humans and living things on earth\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Around 50% of the students \u201ccan apply some culture-specific knowledge to improve cultural awareness\u201d, \u201ccan identify some non-verbal communication styles to gain understand of someone\u2019s culture\u201d and \u201cknow the basic definition of culture and apply simple measurements to describe one\u2019s culture\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Only around 40% of the students are \u201caware of my ability to influence the world\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students obviously have interests and are willing to learn more about inter-cultures.
