AFS believes that it is everybody’s right to live the experience of intercultural exchange, and one’s financial difficulty should not deprive him from this once-in-a-life-time experience. Thus came the AFS scholarships & grants scheme, a possibility for the less fortunate to embark on this life-changing adventure and see the world at a minimal cost.
Participation fee for candidates being awarded the scholarship will be paid for (in full or partial, depending on relative scholarship) by the funds or sponsoring company. Participants on scholarships are required to settle other miscellaneous costs such as application fee for passport, visa and their own pocket money. Medical treatment before the commencement of the program will not be taken care of by AFS.
Eligibility
1. Scholarship applicants must be selected participants on AFS One Year Overseas Exchange Program.
2. Applicant must provide evidence of financial difficulty.
3. Applicant should be genuinely interested in intercultural study.
4. Applicant should be academically sound (copy of school report is required)
Application Procedure
1. Potential applicant should first apply,and be selected for AFS One Year Overseas Exchange Program.
2. Submit a written application together with all supporting documents.
3. Applicants and his/her family will be invited to an interview or a home-visit.
AFS selection panel will deliberate on the award of scholarship and the allocated host country based on the results from interviews, academic performance, choice of destination and health condition of the candidate. Please fill out the application form and the health questionnaire carefully and in detail.
